Karumo Technical Training Institute is a state of art TVET institution under the Directorate of Technical
Education (DTE) in the ministry of Education (MoE). It was constructed and fully equipped as a center of
Excellence in Building Technology and Civil Engineering through Africa Development Bank
(ADB)/Government of Kenya (GoK) as Economic Stimulus Project (ESP). It opened its doors in September
2015 to the first cohort of trainees. It is located in a serene environment in the leeward side of
Nyambene Hills and near Isiolo Metropolis in Meru County 27 Kilometers from Meru town off Meru-
Maua road fully tarmacked up to the gate. Karumo TTI sits on 25 acres of land (combined). We are
grateful to Tigania West CDF for donating 8 acres to the Institute and for the funding to establish a
borehole for the same. We are proud to be the fastest growing TVET Institution within Mt. Kenya region
with a population of 5,471 trainees as of May 2022 and over 100 academic and non-Academic members
of staff spread across various departments. Our learning environment is one of the best having
adequate high speed internet connectivity flooded within the Institute, sufficient water and electricity
supply. We have a very dedicated staff and our quality of training is excellent with a pass rate of over
80% driven by our motto, ‘Where creativity and Innovation Deliver Solutions’. Karumo TTI has a five acre
demonstration eco-farm under drip irrigation where we have planted banana, Hass Avocado and the
much coveted Dragon fruit. We also do beeping presently as a community empowerment project with
60 modern beehives.

We are lucky to have a very dedicated BOG, the management staff, our suppliers & service providers
and the support we enjoy from the Ministry (MoE) and the political class. We offer a customer
experience that is out of this world and i therefore invite you to join hands with us to continue making

repeat business and we are proud and promise to be deliberate that way.
